What Is Hypertension?

hypertension

In order to provide oxygen and nutrients to all the cells in the body, the human heart must pump blood to the arteries. Unfortunately, a number of factors can contribute to cholesterol and plaque buildup inside the arteries, causing the heart to work harder and the blood pressure to increase. Whether it’s a result of poor dietary decisions, genetic factors or something else, hypertension is a problem that deserves to be taken seriously.

Since it can lead to heart attack, stroke and other fatal events down the road, hypertension should be diagnosed early and treated right away. A change in diet is one of the most important steps you can take, and there are other natural ways to lower blood pressure as well. All-natural supplements exist that have been shown to lower the risk of high blood pressure when combined with exercise routines and sensible diets.

Hypertension: Hard to Diagnose, Easy to Treat

highbloodMillions of Americans live with hypertension every day, and it’s amazing how few of them are diagnosed with the condition. Hypertension often worsens over a period of years, and by the time it makes itself known, there are a whole host of other problems to worry about. The risk of heart attack and stroke are foremost among them. High blood pressure is characterized by an increasing resistance to blood flowing into the arteries.

Thus far, the precise high blood pressure causes remain unknown. Evidence suggests that the problem can be alleviated and in some cases reversed by a number of methods. Switching to a healthy, balanced diet that’s low in fat certainly helps, as does the implementation of a reliable exercise regimen. Reducing stress in one’s personal and professional lives can also decrease the burden on the cardiovascular system.

Muscle Pain - Diabetes Symptoms From Taking Statin Drugs

muscle pain -diabetes symptoms from taking statinsThere are many people who experience  muscle pain and weakness from taking Statin Drugs . My best answer to you is  to say , get off these type of drugs as quickly as you can , because this is one  of the many side affects from taking them.

The latest information that I recieved is that the Pharmacutical Industry has been trying to hide this fact for years :  that these drugs are related to  these diabetes symptoms of muscle pain .And worse they appear to be more than just aches. Alot of the Statin users having pain are also showing signs of muscle damage, according to a study published in July in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. Evidence has shown that even by stopping the drugs the pains can continue.

Between 10 percent and 15 percent of statin users report minor muscle aches and weakness, with a smaller number battling even more serous muscle problems, according to the study.

All because they’re taking a drug they most of the time don’t need.

Most likely you are taking this drug for cholesterol :Cholesterol is made by an enzyme in the liver. This enzyme goes into overdrive when you eat high-carbohydrate meals or suffer from excess stress. If you simply remove or manage the stress in your life and eat a better diet , your body will make less cholesterol.

The simple fact is that the Big Drug companies do not advertise , like making commercials to teach how to eat right or to exercise to get your life back on track ! No , But applying this method will help to normalize your cholesterol numbers.

There are many people who suffer from high cholesterol, they  also find themselves facing other conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and diabetes. There are many supplements and natural foods : Garlic for instance that can help with many of these diseases .You can  get yourself back on track naturally, and you’ll get yourself away from a lifetime of needless prescription meds like statins and others, just look for the possibilities.

Drinking Hot Cocoa to Lower Blood Pressure

drinking hot cocoa to lower blood pressureNearly 1-in-3 American adults has high blood pressure today. But for the Kuna Indians who live on a group of islands off the Caribbean coast of Panama, hypertension doesn’t even exist. In fact, after age 60, the average blood pressure for Kuna Indian islanders is a perfect 110/70.

So lets find out what makes these people practically “immune” to hypertension-and lets them enjoy much lower death rates from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and cancer?

Several studies show that the flavonols in cocoa stimulate your body’s production of nitric oxide- which in turn boosts  more blood flow to your heart, brain, and other organs.Amazingly as it sounds , one study found that cocoa thins your blood just as well as low-dose aspirin!

Cocoa beans contain large quantities of flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants that protectsthe human body against harmful effects of oxidation.aThe ntioxidant content in dark chocolate is higher on a per gram basis than milk chocolate. It is also higher in unprocessed cocoa than in alkalized (Dutch-processed) cocoa

Cocoa flavonols can significantly reduce your LDL or “bad” cholesterol levels and promote healthy circulation to maintain your heart health. Cocoa flavonols can improve the health of blood vessels to dilate better and reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol that can lead to clogged arteries.Flavonoids are found in many plants, including onions, broccoli, and tea. “Cocoa stands by itself; it’s extraordinarily rich” in flavonoids.

The Kuna Indians in Panama rarely develop high blood pressure. They make their own locally grown, flavonol-rich cocoa. They drink about 5 cups of cocoa each day and include it in many recipes. But if they leave the island, and start drinking commercial cocoa that’s flavonol-poor, the risk of high blood pressure increases.

To make your own special cup of cocoa to lower blood pressure , follow these directions below .

When buying cocoa , look for 100% pure cocoa powder to make hot cocoa with. Take one teaspoon of cocoa powder and mix it with 2 table spoons of cold milk to form a paste. Bring milk to a boil and poor over prepared cocoa paste. Mix well and sweeten with maple syrup or brown sugar.

It is best to use dark chocolate to replace other high fat sweets or desserts, and to enjoy chocolates and other sweets sparingly.

Lower Blood Pressure Now Before Kidney Disease Appears

lower blood pressure now before kidney disease appearsThere are 26 million Americans with kidney disease. One out of nine Americans is affected. As of 2008 there were half a million people in this country on life-sustaining dialysis.

If you have history of diabetes, high blood pressure, or family history of kidney disease, you are at risk of chronic kidney disease.

The recent Jackson Heart Study published in the American Journal of Kidney Disease, the official journal of National Kidney Foundation, reports in this group of people the percentage of chronic kidney disease is 20 percent, or one in five.

Early detection is now possible by checking urine for albumin. By checking blood for kidney disease, it may not pick up early kidney injury, which albumin in urine will pick up. The National Kidney Foundation is now recommending a urine test for early detection.

One out of nine people with kidney disease are not diagnosed until late in the course of illness when there are few opportunities for prevention.

There is now strong scientific evidence that early detection, altering lifestyle factors and aggressive ways to lower blood pressure, not only slow down the progression to kidney failure, but can also significantly reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease that leads to premature death in the majority of these patients.

Here is a list of the 10 critical things healthy kidneys do for you:

1. Filter 200 liters, say 50 gallons, of blood a day, removing two liters of toxins, wastes and water.

2. Regulate the body’s water balance.

3. Regulate blood pressure by controlling fluid levels and making the hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict.

4. Support healthy bones and tissues by producing the active form of vitamin D.

5. Produce the hormone that stimulates bone marrow to manufacture red blood cells.

6. Keep blood minerals in balance.

7. Keep electrolytes in balance.

8. Regulate blood acid levels.

9. Remove drugs from the blood.

10. Retrieve essential nutrients so that the body can reabsorb them.

Most people with kidney diseases may not be cured, but careful follow-up and control of blood pressure, weight and other factors (If you smoke - stop!), will reduce continuing damage to one’s kidneys.

Many kidney patients die of heart disease or stroke, rather than kidney failure. Dialysis will clean the blood, which is not well cleaned by damaged kidneys.

The National Kidney Foundation urges all Americans to love their kidneys. So learn more about chronic kidney disease risk factors, prevention and treatment.

Alternative Medicine Goes Toe To Toe With Perscription Drugs

alternative medicine goes toe to toe with perscription drugsAlternative medicine is totally  made up of all natural products, which does not contain any preservatives. There are NO side effects and will not damage any of your organs like prescription drugs. Yet, people feel that they can trust only their prescription drugs… knowingly, that there are side effects and will damage organs, cells, and sometimes even the nervous system.

Alternative Medicine defined as therapeutic practices which are not currently considered an integral part of conventional medical practices. They may lack biomedical explanations but as they become better researched some, such as physical therapy, diet, and acupuncture, become widely accepted whereas others, such as humors or radium therapy, quietly fade away, yet are important historical footnotes. Therapies are termed as Complementary when used in addition to conventional treatments and as Alternative when used instead of conventional treatment.

Alternative therapies include, but are not limited to the following disciplines: folk medicine, herbal medicine, diet fads, homeopathy, faith healing, new age healing, chiropractic, acupuncture, naturopathy, massage, and music therapy.

A problem my mom had experienced with the  conventional treatment , the medicine she was being treated with for her diabetes was affecting her breathing it had weakened her lungs. At the same time my mother had other health issues which the doctor had added perscriti0ns  to the list for her to take.So at this time my mom decided to learn more about natural alternative medicine to treat her illnesses

My mother did not stop taking her prescription medications, but used the Alternative Medicine as an aid to help her. She had taken these alternatives for fourteen years before she passed away. Anytime she had to be entered into the hospital, her Internal Medicine Physician would allow her to take the Alternative Medicine with her prescriptions. Even the doctor had stated to me one day, that “with your mother taking the Alternative Medicine it had assisted her on a daily basis and I’m sure that it has extended her life, for the past fourteen years.”

The American Medical Association and most of the Insurance Companies do “NOT” support the Alternative or Complementary Medicine. Also, they are working very hard to eliminate the Alternative Industry. Are they intimidated? Is there guilt of them for being wrong about the Alternative Medicine? Are people living longer by educating them self, by using the Natural Products? Probably yes on all questions. I hope this information will help give you a better understanding and that it will also extend your life.

how to treat gout with natural alternatives part 2Before you decide to go on drugs to treat gout try using natural alternatives like , modifying your diet is the preferable approach. The first change you should make is to avoid purine rich foods such as anchovies, meat gravies and broths, organ meats, lunch meats, asparagus, herring, sardines, mussels, and mushrooms.

Other foods to avoid are white flour, sugar, and processed foods. Also try to limit dried beans, cauliflower, fish, lentils, oatmeal, pultry, and saturated fats.

Alchohol consumptions must be stopped as it increases the production of uric acid and restricts its elimination by the kidneys.

Try to eat fresh foods like raw fruits ,berries and veggies. Grains, seeds, nuts, and high fiber foods will also help too. It is also a good idea to drink plenty of water to aid in the elimination of uirc acid from the kidneys in the urine.

Alfalfa is a rich source of minerals and other nutrients that help reduce serum uric acid. Take 2-3 grams per day during a gout flare up and one gram per day as a preventative.

Vitamin C helps to lower serum uric acids levels by increasing renal excretion. 3-4,000 mgs a day in divided doses is recommended.

Celery seed helps to relieve gout by elimination uric acid from the body. Celery seeds also contain about 20 different anti-inflammatory agents.

The EPA in fish oil helps to inhibit the production of the inflammatory agents produced from gout.

One of the most discussed factors regarding raw green foods is their ability to promote systemic alkalinity. Many researchers agree that acidosis accounts for many symptoms and diseases, including problems with joints and the musculoskeletal system in general. In addition, green foods found in Green Nutrients are especially important in support of the hormonal system in both males and females. Today’s modern diet is severely lacking in raw, green vegetables carrying important minerals and vitamins to support a wide array of biochemical functions. Spinach, broccoli, parsley, dandelion and the cereal grasses in this vegetarian formula are excellent sources of minerals, chlorophyll and other nutrients. The potassium in these foods, in particular, are essential for cellular energy and function needed for all cellular activity on a systemic level.

These are just a few of many herbs and food products that can help with gout using natural alternatives .

essential nutrients to lower blood pressureHigh blood pressure is a very dangerous condition, which can lead to heart disease and stroke. Although there are drugs that you can take, many people prefer to manage their health using natural alternative means. There are many vitamins and minerals that will help you keep a lower blood pressure naturally.

    Vitamin C

  1. Vitamin C is an all-purpose vitamin, affecting everything from the immune system to the bones. It helps lower blood pressure by strengthening arteries and preventing atherosclerosis. This vitamin is found in most fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits.

    Vitamin B9

  2. Vitamin B9 helps lower blood pressure by producing healthy red blood cells. This nutrient is found in green leafy vegetables.

    Vitamin E

  3. Another vitamin that is useful for preventing high blood pressure is vitamin E. It is an antioxidant, which protects your arteries against oxidized cholesterol. You get this nutrient from nuts and seeds, as well as green leafy vegetables like spinach.

    Potassium

  4. Potassium is a mineral that helps to regulate fluid levels in the cells and promote healthy kidney function. It also maintains proper heart muscle contraction. Bananas are full of potassium, as are fish, potatoes and watermelon.

Add peas to your hypertension dietYou know when you were a child and told to eat your  peas and carrots , now you may want to take a second look at peas to help fight high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease, says a new study that could lead to new nutritional health supplements.

Working with the yellow garden pea, Canadian scientists purified a mixture of proteins and tested the substance on rats with polycystic kidney disease, and found that blood pressure of the participants dropped 20 percent over the eight-week study.

Researcher Halumi Aluko called the findings significant, citing the fact that most “patients actually die from cardiovascular complications that arise from the high blood pressure associated with kidney malfunction.”

Further testing on the pea extract being added to  patients hypertension diet ,is planned at the University of Manitoba, although a product based on the research may not hit shelves for another two to three years.

Previous research on PKD, which affects 26 million Americans, has searched for improved screening methods, as well as connection to hypertensive-related diseases such as diabetes.
